  অবধূত ছদ্মনামে তিনি একাধিক গ্রন্থ রচনা করেছিলেন। ১৯৫৪ সালে মরুতীর্থ হিংলাজ নামক উপন্যাস রচনা করে খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। এই উপন্যাসটি অবলম্বনে একটি জনপ্রিয় চলচ্চিত্রও নির্মিত হয়, যার কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন বিকাশ রায় ও উত্তমকুমার। তাঁর অপর বিখ্যাত গ্রন্থ উদ্ধারণপুরের ঘাট (১৯৬০)।

  Jyotirindranath Nandi (he used to sign as Jyotirindra Nandi) (1912–1982) was a Bengali writer. He created a niche for himself in Bengali literature.
  
  Jyotirindranath was better known for his short stories. Shalik ki Charai is a notable collection of his short stories. His first novel was Suryamukhi. His most famous novel was Baro Ghar Ek Uthan. Amongst his other books were Mirar Dupur, Premer Cheye Baro and Ei Tar Puraskar.

  Narayan Sanyal (bn: নারায়ণ সান্যাল) was a well-known & versatile writer of modern Bengali literature. He received several awards for literature including Rabindra Puraskar for Aporupa Ajanta (Bangla: অপরূপা অজন্তা) in 1969, Bankim Puraskar for Rupmonjori (Bangla: রূপমঞ্জরী) in 2000, and Narasingha Dutta Award.   Sunil Gangopadhyay (Bengali: সুনীল গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়) was a famous Indian poet and novelist.   Samaresh Majumdar (Bangla: সমরেশ মজুমদার) was a well-known Bengali writer. He spent his childhood years in the tea gardens of Duars, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India.   Mahasweta Devi

  Mahasweta Devi was an Indian social activist and writer. She was born in 1926 in Dhaka, to literary parents in a Hindu Brahmin family. Her father Manish Ghatak was a well-known poet and novelist of the Kallol era, who used the pseudonym Jubanashwa. Mahasweta's mother Dharitri Devi was also a writer and a social worker.

  Zahir Raihan

  Zahir Raihan (Bangla: জহির রায়হান) was a Bangladeshi novelist, writer and filmmaker. He is perhaps best known for his documentary Stop Genocide made during the Bangladesh Liberation War.
  
  He was an active worker of the Language Movement of 1952. The effect of Language Movement was so high on him that he made his legendary film Jibon Theke Neya based on it. In 1971 he joined in the Liberation War of Bangladesh and created documentary films on this great event.
