Syed Mujtaba Ali (Bengali: সৈয়দ মুজতবা আলী) was a Bengali author, academician, scholar and linguist.

Syed Mujtaba Ali was born in Karimganj district (in present-day Assam, India). In 1919, he was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore and started writing to the poet. In 1921, Mujtaba joined the Indian freedom struggle and left his school in Sylhet. He went to Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan and graduated in 1926. He was among the first graduates of the university. Later, he moved to Kabul to work in the education department (1927–1929). Zahir Raihan

Zahir Raihan (Bangla: জহির রায়হান) was a Bangladeshi novelist, writer and filmmaker. He is perhaps best known for his documentary Stop Genocide made during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

He was an active worker of the Language Movement of 1952. The effect of Language Movement was so high on him that he made his legendary film Jibon Theke Neya based on it. In 1971 he joined in the Liberation War of Bangladesh and created documentary films on this great event.

He disappeared on January 30, 1972 while trying to locate his brother, the famous writer Shahidullah Kaiser, who was captured and killed by the Pakistan army. Evidences have been found that he was killed by some armed Bihari collaborators and disguised soldiers of Pakistan Army.

বর্ণালী সাহার জন্ম ১৯৮৩ সনে। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন ইন্সটিটিউট থেকে স্নাতক এবং মেলবোর্ন বিজনেস স্কুল (মেলবোর্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, অস্ট্রেলিয়া) থেকে ব্যবসায় প্রশাসন বিষয়ে স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ের শিক্ষা সমাপ্ত করেন। শৈশব থেকে রাগসংগীতের চর্চা করছেন-শিক্ষার্থী এবং গবেষক হিসাবে কলকাতার আইটিসি সংগীত রিসার্চ একাডেমির সঙ্গেও যুক্ত ছিলেন। ঢাকা, লন্ডন এবং মেলবোর্নে একাধিক বহুজাতিক প্রতিষ্ঠানে নেতৃত্বস্থানীয় পরামর্শক পদে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন। বর্তমানে মেলবোর্নে বসবাস করছেন।

‘আম্মা ও দূরসম্পর্কের গানগুলি’ (২০১৫) বর্ণালী সাহার প্রথম প্রকাশিত গ্রন্থ, এটি একটি গল্পসংকলন। ‘দ্যা নর্থ এন্ড’ (২০২০) প্রথম উপন্যাস। ২০২৩ সালের বইয়ের প্রকাশিত হয় তাঁর দ্বিতীয় গল্পগ্রন্থ ‘জবরখাকি’।

Gajendrakumar Mitra

Gajendra Kumar Mitra was born on 11 November 1908. He was a versatile writer. He wrote many novels, short stories, plays, essays and poems. Mitra also translated a few English novels into Bengali, such as Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities . He used to write with his left hand. His genuine love and concern for Bengali literature inspired him to co-found the famous Mitra and Ghosh Publishers. Mitra was childless. He died on 16 October 1994 in Calcutta (now Kolkata).

Mr Mitra along with his friend Sumathanath Ghosh established Mitra & Ghosh Publishers on 9 March 1934.
