  অবধূত (১৯১০ - ১৩ এপ্রিল, ১৯৭৮) বা কালিকানন্দ অবধূত ছিলেন একজন বিশিষ্ট ভারতীয় বাঙালি ঔপন্যাসিক ও তন্ত্রসাধক। তাঁর প্রকৃতনাম দুলালচন্দ্র মুখোপাধ্যায়। জন্ম কলকাতার ভবানীপুরে। পুত্র অমল মুখোপাধ্যায়ের জন্মের পর প্রথমা স্ত্রীর মৃত্যু হলে উজ্জয়িনীর মহাকাল মন্দিরে সন্ন্যাস (অবধূত) গ্রহণ করেন। সন্ন্যাসজীবনে তাঁর নাম হয় কালিকানন্দ অবধূত। সন্ন্যাসজীবনে তাঁর ভৈরবী স্ত্রীও ছিল। হুগলি জেলার চুঁচুড়ায় স্বপ্রতিষ্ঠিত রুদ্রচণ্ডী মঠে তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়।
  অবধূত ছদ্মনামে তিনি একাধিক গ্রন্থ রচনা করেছিলেন। ১৯৫৪ সালে মরুতীর্থ হিংলাজ নামক উপন্যাস রচনা করে খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। এই উপন্যাসটি অবলম্বনে একটি জনপ্রিয় চলচ্চিত্রও নির্মিত হয়, যার কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন বিকাশ রায় ও উত্তমকুমার। তাঁর অপর বিখ্যাত গ্রন্থ উদ্ধারণপুরের ঘাট (১৯৬০)।

  মামুন হুসাইন ৪ মার্চ ১৯৬২ সালে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন কুষ্টিয়া জেলা শহরের কমলাপুরে। শৈশব-কৈশোর কেটেছে কুষ্টিয়া ও ঝিনাইদহ জেলায়। পড়ালেখা করেছেন ঝিনাইদহ ক্যাডেট কলেজের বিজ্ঞান বিভাগে। ১৯৭৭ সালে এসএসসি এবং ১৯৭৯ সালে আইএসসি পাস করে রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজে ভর্তি হন। সেখান থেকে এমবিবিএস করেন ১৯৮৫ সালে। এরপর বাংলাদেশ সরকারী কর্ম কমিশন-এর অধীনে ডাক্তার হিসেবে সরকারি চাকুরিতে যোগ দেন। বর্তমানে তিনি রাজশাহী মেডিকেল কলেজ এর মনোরোগবিদ্যা বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ও বিভাগীয় প্রধান হিসেবে কর্মরত আছেন। মামুন হুসাইনের সাহিত্যে হাতেখড়ি আশির দশকে হলেও প্রাথমিক অবস্থায় তিনি সাহিত্যের ছোটকাগজগুলোতেই লিখতেন। বেশ পরে ১৯৯৫ সালে প্রথম গল্পগ্রন্থ ‘শান্ত সন্ত্রাসের চাঁদমারি’ প্রকাশ করেন। গ্রন্থটি প্রকাশের আগেই তিনি বাংলাদেশের গল্পধারায় সিরিয়াসধর্মী গল্পকার হিসেবে পরিচিতি লাভ ক
