Leela Majumdar (Bengali: লীলা মজুমদার Lila Mojumdar) was a Bengali writer. Her first story, Lakkhi chhele, was published in Sandesh in 1922. It was also illustrated by her. The children's magazine in Bengali was founded by her uncle, Upendrakishore Ray Chaudhuri in 1913 and was later edited by her cousin Sukumar Ray for sometime after the death of Upendrakishore in 1915. Together with her nephew Satyajit Ray and her cousin Nalini Das, she edited and wrote for Sandesh throughout her active writing life. Tarapada Ray (Bengali: তারাপদ রায়) was a Bengali writer of poems, short stories, and essays. He is especially known for his satirical sense of humour. He was born on November 17, 1936 in Tangail, now in Bangladesh. He lived in Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal till his death on August 25, 2007.

Troilokyanath Mukhopadhyay

Troilokyanath Mukhopadhyay, also known as T. N. Mukharji, was a remarkable person in British India. He worked as a curator at the Indian Museum in Calcutta, preserving India's cultural heritage. Beyond his museum work, Mukharji was a prolific writer in both English and Bengali.

Malay Roy Choudhury (born 29 October 1939) is an Indian Bengali poet, playwright, short story writer, essayist and novelist who founded the Hungryalist movement in the 1960s.
Roy Choudhury was born in Patna, Bihar, India, into the Sabarna Roy Choudhury clan, which owned the villages that became Kolkata. He grew up in Patna's Imlitala ghetto, which was mainly inhabited by Dalit Hindus and Shia Muslims. His was the only Bengali family. His father, Ranjit (1909–1991) was a photographer in Patna; his mother, Amita (1916–1982), was from a progressive family of the 19th-century Bengali Renaissance.
