Syed Waliullah was born on 15 August 1922 at Sholashahar in Chittagong. After completing his Bachelor’s from Ananda Mohan College in Mymensingh, he enrolled at Calcutta University but did not complete his Master’s. Zahir Raihan

Zahir Raihan (Bangla: জহির রায়হান) was a Bangladeshi novelist, writer and filmmaker. He is perhaps best known for his documentary Stop Genocide made during the Bangladesh Liberation War.

He was an active worker of the Language Movement of 1952. The effect of Language Movement was so high on him that he made his legendary film Jibon Theke Neya based on it. In 1971 he joined in the Liberation War of Bangladesh and created documentary films on this great event.

He disappeared on January 30, 1972 while trying to locate his brother, the famous writer Shahidullah Kaiser, who was captured and killed by the Pakistan army. Evidences have been found that he was killed by some armed Bihari collaborators and disguised soldiers of Pakistan Army.

Satinath Bhaduri was a Bengali Indian novelist and politician. He was known by his literary pseudonym, Chitra Gupta. His ancestral home was in Krishnanagar in the district of Nadia. He obtained an MA degree in Economics from the University of Patna in 1930. In 1931 he completed his BL degree. He started practising law at Patna between 1932 and 1939. Anwar Pasha

আনোয়ার পাশা একজন বাংলাদেশী কবি, কথা সাহিত্যিক, এবং শিক্ষাবিদ। তাঁর পিতার নাম হাজী মকরম আলী আর মা সাবেরা খাতুন। তিনি মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার বহরমপুর মোহকুমার রাঙ্গামাটি চাঁদপাড়া ইউনিয়নের অন্তর্গত ডবকাই গ্রামে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন।

তিনি ১৯৪৬ সালে মাদ্রাসা পরীক্ষায় প্রথম বিভাগে কৃতকার্য হন। কিন্তু ১৯৪৮ সালে আবার উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা দিয়ে পাশ করেন। তিনি রাজশাহী কলেজ থেকে বাংলা সাহিত্যে স্নাতক পাশ করেন ১৯৫১ সালে এবং কলকাতা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে বাংলা সাহিত্যেই স্নাতকোত্তর সম্মাননা অর্জন করেন। মানিকচক হাই মাদ্রাসায় শিক্ষকতার মাধ্যমে আনোয়ার পাশার কর্মজীবন শুরু হয়। পরে তিনি ১৯৫৪ সালে ভাবতা আজিজিয়া হাই মাদ্রাসায় এবং ১৯৫৭ সালে সাদিখান দিয়ার বহুমুখী উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয়ে শিক্ষকতা করেন। ১৯৫৮ সালে তিনি পাবনা এডওয়ার্ড কলেজে প্রভাষক হিসেবে যোগ দেন এবং প

মণীন্দ্র গুপ্তর জন্ম ১৯২৬ সালে অবিভক্ত বাংলার বরিশালের গৈলা গ্রামে। কৈশোর কাটিয়েছেন অসমের বরাক উপত্যকায় মামার বাড়িতে। একই সঙ্গে কবি, প্রাবন্ধিক, কথাসাহিত্যিক ও চিত্রশিল্পী মণীন্দ্রবাবু দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধে ব্রিটিশ ভারতীয় সেনাবাহিনীতে যোগ দেন।
কবিতা লিখেছেন ১৯৪০-এর দশক থেকে। প্রথম কবিতার বই ‘নীল পাথরের আকাশ’ প্রকাশিত হয় অনেক পরে, ১৯৬৯ সালে। লিখতে এসেই পাঠকের নজর কাড়েন তিনি। বাংলা কবিতার তৎকালীন অভিমুখের সম্পূর্ণ বিপরীতেই অবস্থান করছিল তাঁর রচনা। এর পরে প্রকাশিত হয় ‘মৌপোকাদের গ্রাম’, ‘লাল স্কুলবাড়ি’, ‘ছত্রপলাশ চৈত্যে দিনশেষে’, ‘শরৎমেঘ ও কাশফুলের বন্ধু’ অত্যাদি কাব্যগ্রন্থ। ১৯৯১-এ বের হয় তাঁর আলোড়ন তোলা প্রবন্ধ গ্রন্থ ‘চাঁদের ওপিঠে’।

Afsan Chowdhury

Afsan Chowdhury is a Bangladeshi liberation war researcher, columnist and journalist. He received Bangla Academy Award in the year 2018 for his contribution to the liberation war literature.

Chowdhury was born on 16 February 1952 in Dhaka. After completing his higher education from the Department of History in Dhaka University, he started his career in journalism. During his career as a journalist, he served as an editor for Dhaka Courier, contributed to The Daily Star and also produced a number of BBC World Service series. He was also one of the founder Promoter of United News of Bangladesh, one of the country's leading news agencies. He is a teacher of BRAC University and runs the Diversity Studies Cluster there.

Pramathanath Bishi (1901-1985), a writer and educationist, was born on 11 June 1901 at Joari in Rajshahi, the son of Nalininath Bishi and Sarojbasini Devi. He studied for seventeen years at Brahma Vidyalaya in santiniketan, where he became closely acquainted with rabindranath tagore. Abadhut

অবধূত (১৯১০ - ১৩ এপ্রিল, ১৯৭৮) বা কালিকানন্দ অবধূত ছিলেন একজন বিশিষ্ট ভারতীয় বাঙালি ঔপন্যাসিক ও তন্ত্রসাধক। তাঁর প্রকৃতনাম দুলালচন্দ্র মুখোপাধ্যায়। জন্ম কলকাতার ভবানীপুরে। পুত্র অমল মুখোপাধ্যায়ের জন্মের পর প্রথমা স্ত্রীর মৃত্যু হলে উজ্জয়িনীর মহাকাল মন্দিরে সন্ন্যাস (অবধূত) গ্রহণ করেন। সন্ন্যাসজীবনে তাঁর নাম হয় কালিকানন্দ অবধূত। সন্ন্যাসজীবনে তাঁর ভৈরবী স্ত্রীও ছিল। হুগলি জেলার চুঁচুড়ায় স্বপ্রতিষ্ঠিত রুদ্রচণ্ডী মঠে তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়।
অবধূত ছদ্মনামে তিনি একাধিক গ্রন্থ রচনা করেছিলেন। ১৯৫৪ সালে মরুতীর্থ হিংলাজ নামক উপন্যাস রচনা করে খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। এই উপন্যাসটি অবলম্বনে একটি জনপ্রিয় চলচ্চিত্রও নির্মিত হয়, যার কেন্দ্রীয় চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন বিকাশ রায় ও উত্তমকুমার। তাঁর অপর বিখ্যাত গ্রন্থ উদ্ধারণপুরের ঘাট (১৯৬০)।

Annada Shankar Ray was a Bengali poet and essayist.

He was born in 1904 at Dhenkanal, Orissa. He graduated in English from Ravenshaw College. His father had shifted base from their ancestral village of Rameswarpur near Dhamnagar in Bhadrak of Orissa, following a family feud. His family roots go back to the 'Ghosh Mahashayas' who migrated to Rameswarpur from Kotarang near Howrah as a part of Todarmal's contingent during Akbar's reign.
He topped the list of Indian Civil Service examinees in 1927. He had failed to make the mark in the previous year being cut-off by one rank. Alauddin Al-Azad (Bangla: আলাউদ্দিন আল আজাদ) was a modern Bangladeshi author, novelist, and poet. He was a student of Bangla literature in Dhaka University. He received his PhD from London University in 1970 for his work 'Iswar Gupter Jeebon o Kabita' (ঈশ্বরগুপ্তের জীবন ও কবিতা).

Azad was born in Dhaka. He was a professor of Bangla literature. Also he was a first secretary of Bangladesh High Commission in Moskow.

Gajendrakumar Mitra

Gajendra Kumar Mitra was born on 11 November 1908. He was a versatile writer. He wrote many novels, short stories, plays, essays and poems. Mitra also translated a few English novels into Bengali, such as Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities . He used to write with his left hand. His genuine love and concern for Bengali literature inspired him to co-found the famous Mitra and Ghosh Publishers. Mitra was childless. He died on 16 October 1994 in Calcutta (now Kolkata).

Mr Mitra along with his friend Sumathanath Ghosh established Mitra & Ghosh Publishers on 9 March 1934.
