Kris Terwindt

Kris Terwindt (1978) schreef als meisje van zes met een dik, blauw potlood grote woorden in kleine schriftjes. Met haar verhalen vol humor en dramatische wendingen vermaakte ze haar klasgenoten en leraren jaar in, jaar uit. Maar schrijver werd ze niet.

Martine Letterie werd 12 december 1958 in Amsterdam geboren. Ze groeide op in Voorburg en studeerde Nederlandse Taal- en Letterkunde in Utrecht, hoofdvak Middelnederlandse Letterkunde.
Ze stond ruim twaalf jaar voor de klas als lerares Nederlands op mavo, havo, vwo, meao en gaf de laatste vier jaar daarvan jeugdliteratuur op de Pabo in Doetinchem.

Tonke Dragt

Tonke Dragt werd in 1930 geboren in Nederlands-Indië, en heeft daar het grootste deel van haar jeugd doorgebracht. In 1942 kwam ze met haar moeder en twee zusjes terecht in een Jappenkamp, en daar heeft ze ontdekt dat ze ze kon ‘ontsnappen’ door verhalen te verzinnen. Ze schreef en tekende in eerder gebruikte uitgegumde schriftjes en zelfs op wc-papier, want er was bijna niets. Samen met een vriendinnetje maakte ze het ‘boek’ De jacht op de Touwkleurige.

Törnqvist was born in 1964, in Sweden, to the author-illustrator Rita Törnqvist-Verschuur and Egil Törnqvist, a professor and academic literary critic. At the age of five, she moved to the Netherlands with her family, where she still lives today.

Lizette de Koning (Den Haag, 1975) verhuisde al op jonge leeftijd naar Drenthe. Daar woonde ze vlak bij het bos – geweldig om in te spelen, vertelt ze. Paul Biegel

Paul Biegel was born in Bussum in 1925. His father, Hermann Biegel, was of German descent, and owned a building materials shop. With his wife Madeleine Povel-Guillot he had nine children, six girls and three boys, of which Paul was the youngest. He wasn't a prolific reader as a child, preferring to play outside. His favourite books where the fairy tales of the brothers Grimm and the works of Jules Verne. He studied in Bussum (primary school) and Amsterdam, graduating in 1945.

His first story, De ontevreden kabouter ("The unhappy gnome"), written when he was 14 years old, was printed in the newspaper De Tijd. He wanted to become a pianist, but decided that he didn't have enough talent. He went to the United States for a year after World War I

Annet Huizing

Annet Huizing (1960) schrijft fictie en non-fictie voor kinderen. Ze woont op een woonboot in de Utrechtse wijk Lombok. Sinds 1997 heeft ze haar eigen tekstbureau. In 2014 debuteerde ze bij Lemniscaat met de jeugdroman Hoe ik per ongeluk een boek schreef (bekroond met een Zilveren Griffel). Het boek is vertaald naar het Duits, Frans, Sloveens en Koreaans. Een Turkse en Russische vertaling zijn in voorbereiding. In september 2017 verscheen De zweetvoetenman. Voor dit non-fictieboek (voor alle leeftijden) dook ze in de wereld van het recht. Samen met illustrator Margot Westermann brengt ze de rechtsstaat tot leven in spannende, ontroerende en grappige waargebeurde verhalen.

Cees van den Berg

Cees van den Berg is muzikant en schrijver. Na jarenlang in bandjes basgitaar gespeeld te hebben – en later contrabas – vond hij het tijd om ook te gaan schrijven. Hij begon, natuurlijk, als muziekrecensent en interviewer en debuteerde in 2016 met zijn kinderboek Lotje Later. Gevonden is zijn eerste boek bij Lemniscaat.

Andreas Palmaer

Rob Ruggenberg

Rob Ruggenberg werd op 14 juli 1946 geboren in Wassenaar, aan de Noordzeekust. Zijn vader was conducteur-bestuurder bij de Gele Tram, die reed tussen Den Haag en Leiden.

Nadat Rob zes jaar bij de Koninklijke Marine doorbracht (als radiotelegrafist) en daarbij de halve wereld zag, ging hij op eigen houtje reizen. Hij werkte in een kibboets in Israël en woonde daarna in enkele Afrikaanse landen. In 1969 keerde hij terug naar Nederland en werd journalist.

Hij begon zijn journalistieke loopbaan in de stad Dordrecht, waar hij het vak leerde bij het Dordts Dagblad.

Daarna werkte hij voor Trouw, voor de Brabant Pers (een samenwerkingsverband van regionale dagbladen) en voor het Brabants Dagblad.

Linda Dielemans

I've been writing stories since I was twelve years old, but it was studying archaeology, especially prehistory, that really sparked my creativity. Working on excavations allows me to touch (pre)history in a very direct way, but to fit the pieces of the puzzle together, to reconstruct the missing parts of people's long-forgotten lives is something I love just as much. This inspired me to write my prehistoric children's novels, and I'm not done writing yet. The past is a far too mysterious and magical place to ever stop exploring!
