Saskia Maaskant

Saskia Maaskant is een Nederlandse auteur. Zij debuteerde in 2011 met de jeugdroman 'De Verteller van Beorga' bij uitgeverij Davidsfonds (Antwerpen, België). Dit boek werd genomineerd voor de Zoute Zoen, de belangrijkste manuscriptenprijs voor een jeugdboek in het Nederlands taalgebied, en werd daarbij tweede. Haar tweede roman 'Kieuw' werd genomineerd voor diverse prijzen in Nederland en Vlaanderen en won de Accolade voor het 'Beste Jeugdboek' (Zeeuwse Boekenprijs). 'Dromer' - Maaskants derde roman, won 'De Kleine Cervantes 2018'. Haar vierde jeugdroman 'Meerminnen verdrinken niet' werd genomineerd voor de Archeon Thea Beckmanprijs 2021.

Annet Schaap wilde altijd al tekenaar worden, of schrijver, of ontdekkingsreizigster.

Ze studeerde aan twee kunstacademies en een schrijversschool.

Sinds 1991 illustreerde ze bijna 200 kinderboeken en is in Nederland het meest bekend door haar tekeningen bij de succesvolle Hoe Overleef Ik-serie van Francine Oomen. Maar ze illustreerde ook veel boeken van andere geliefde schrijvers, zoals Janneke Schotveld, Manon Sikkel, Jacques Vriens, Annie M.G. Schmidt en Astrid Lindgren.

Thomas Olde Heuvelt
