Saru Bhakta
Saru Bhakta (Nepali: सरु भक्त) is the pen name of Bhakta Raj Shrestha, a celebrated Nepalese novelist and poet and a winner of Madan puraskaar, the most prestigious literary honour in Nepal. He was born to Ganesh Bahadur Shrestha and Laxmi Shrestha in Bag Bazaar, Pokhara, Nepal and started writing around 1978.
Many consider his novel Paagal Basti, to be a classic in Nepalese literature.
He is also a member of the Royal Nepal Academy.

Lil Bahadur Chettri was an Indian writer in the Nepali language from Assam. He was a recipient of Sahitya Academy Award for his book Brahmaputrako Chheu Chhau. His other book Basain is a story of poor villagers who undergo suffering due to the exploitation of the feudal and so-called upper class of the society. It is included in the curriculum of Tribhuvan University, Nepal. In 2016, he was honoured with Jagadamba Shree Purasakar for his contribution to the Nepali literature and language. In 2020, Government of India awarded him Padmashri, the fourth highest civilian award of India for his contribution in literature and education.

Diamond Shumsher Rana (डायमनशमशेर राणा) was born at Tansen Durbar in Palpa, where his grandfather, Sher Shumshere Jung Bahadur Rana, was governor. His father Buddha Shumshere Jung Bahadur Rana was a colonel in the Royal Nepal Army.Rana enjoyed a privileged upbringing and was a captain in the Royal Nepal Army. In 1948 Rana travelled to Benaras, India and had his first novel Basanti published. In Nepal, he had aligned himself with an anti-establishment faction of the Rana regime and was arrested, court-martialled and sentenced to death but was later freed after members of the Rana family pressured the regime for his release. Rana later joined the political opposition and was a member of the Nepali Congress Party from 1954 to 1987.
