Dewi Kharisma Michellia was born in Denpasar in 1991. She works as a writer, translator, and editor, and has experiences in writing novels, reportages, and short stories.

Her work, Surat Panjang tentang Jarak Kita yang Jutaan Tahun Cahaya (A Long Letter of Our Million Light-Years Distance) was published by Gramedia Pustaka Utama in 2013 after winning the 2012 Jakarta Art Council Novel Contest, which later short-listed as the 2013 Khatulistiwa Literary Award.
