Late Binoy Majumdar was born in Myanmar (erstwhile Burma) on the 17th of September 1934. His family later moved to what is now West Bengal in India. Binoy loved mathematics from his early youth. He completed 'Intermediate' (pre-University) from the Presidency College of the University of Calcutta. Although he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering graduate from Bengal Engineering College, Calcutta, in 1957, Binoy turned to poetry later in life. He translated a number of science texts from the Russian to Bengali. Syed Mujtaba Ali was born in Karimganj district (in present-day Assam, India). In 1919, he was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore and started writing to the poet. Sudhindranath Dutta (Bengali: সুধীন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত; 1901–1960) was a Bengali Indian post-modern poet, essayist, journalist and critic. He is one of the most influential five poets of the 20th century who introduced modernity to Bengali poetry.

Sudhindranath is one of the most notable poets after the Tagore-era in Bengali literature. Born to renowned lawyer Hirendranath Dutta & Indumati Vasu Mallik (sister of Raja Subodh Chandra Vasu Mallik), he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
