Miguel Vila

Miguel Vila is an Italian cartoonist, born in Padova in 1993. His first book Padovaland (2020, Canicola) won the Cecchetto prize for Breakthrough Artist (“Artista rivelazione”) at the Treviso Comic Book Festival and the Gran Guinigi Award for Best New Artist (“Miglior esordiente”) at Lucca Comics. The following year, his second graphic novel Fiordilatte (Canicola, 2021) - translated as Milky Way by Fantagraphics Books - received the Micheluzzi Award for Best Comics at Lucca. Third in his 'trilogy of the North-East' is Confortless (Canicola, 2023). He has also released Fortezza volante (Minimun Fax, 2023), written by Lorenzo Palloni. Vila's books have been published in France, Spain, Finland and the US.

Dave Cooper

Dave Charles Cooper is a Canadian cartoonist, painter and animator.
Cooper was born in Nova Scotia in 1967 and grew up in Ottawa, where he still lives.
He began his career in underground comics in the early 90's . His most notable works are Weasel (2000, Fantagraphics), winner of an Ignatz Award and a Harvey Award in 2000, and Ripple (2003, Fantagraphics). A retrospective of his comic artwork took place in Angoulême and Paris in 2002.

Daniel Clowes

Daniel Gillespie Clowes is an Academy Award-nominated American author, screenwriter and cartoonist of alternative comic books. Most of Clowes' work appears first in his anthology Eightball (1989-2004), a collection of self-contained narratives and serialized graphic novels. Several of these narratives have been collected published separately as graphic novels, most notably Ghost World. With filmmaker Terry Zwigoff, Clowes adapted Ghost World into the 2000 film of the same name, and also adapted another Eightball story into the 2006 film Art School Confidential. Before Eightball, Clowes worked on comic book series Lloyd Llewellyn, which in the later issues stronger foreshadowed some of the social criticism of his work with Eightball.

Marjane Satrapi (Persian: مرجان ساتراپی) is an Iranian-born French contemporary graphic novellist, illustrator, animated film director, and children's book author. Apart from her native tongue Persian, she speaks English, Swedish, German, French and Italian.

Dash Shaw is an American cartoonist and animator, currently living in Richmond, Virginia.

Liv Strömquist

Strömquist was born in Lund and grew up in Ravlunda in the Österlen region of south Sweden. Today she lives in Malmö. Already as a five-year old she made her own comics, but stopped, until she took up drawing comics at the age of 23. Her flatmate made her interested in comic fanzines then. With Rikedomen, she published her first own fanzine.

Bea Lema

Beatriz Lema Rivera (1985), known as Bea Lema, is a Spanish cartoonist and illustrator, winner of the 2024 Spanish National Comic Award. Her works have been published in both Spanish and French.

In 2017, she published her first comic in galician, O Corpo de Cristo, which was nominated and later named winner of the XII Castelao Comic Award of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, becoming the first woman to receive this award. Alix Garin

Alix Garin was born in 1997 in Belgium. Her future career as a graphic novelist emerged very early on, and she plunged straight into comics art studies after high school. In 2017, she won the Young Talent prize at the Quai des Bulles festival in Saint Malo. In 2018, fresh out of her studies, she moved to Brussels and was hired by the Cartoonbase agency. Vincent Paronnaud (born 1970), a.k.a. Winshluss, is a French comics artist and filmmaker.
Paronnaud was born in La Rochelle. He is best known for cowriting and codirecting with Marjane Satrapi the highly acclaimed animated film Persepolis (2007), for which they received numerous awards including the Jury Prize at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival[1] as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature.[2]
