E.M. Carroll was born in June 1983 in London, Ontario. They started making comics in 2010 and their horror comic "His Face All Red" went viral at Hallowe'en 2010.

Since then, E.M. has published several books, created comics for anthologies, and provided illustrations for other works. E.M. has won several awards, including an Ignatz and two Eisners. They are married to fellow Canadian artist, Kate Craig.

Tillie Walden is an American cartoonist and illustrator.
Born in 1996 in San Diego, California, Walden graduated from the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont, where she is currently a professor.
Walden started publishing short comics when she was just a teenager. Her first long-form graphic novel The End of Summer was published by the British publisher Avery Hill in 2015. Her second book I Love This Part came out only a few months later, winning the 2016 Ignatz Award for promising new talent. Later Walden received the 2018 Eisner Award for Best Reality-Based Work for her memoir Spinning (2017). Among her other works are A City Inside (2016), On a Sunbeam (2018), Are You Listening? Murasaki Yamada (やまだ紫, Yamada Murasaki), born Mitsuko Yamada (1948–2009) was a Japanese cartoonist, essayist and poet. She is considered a pioneer of literary comics, especially from a female perspective. Her work offered realistic portraits of women negotiating complicated family situations and social responsibilities.
With a background in design, Yamada debuted in comics in 1969 with a story published in Osamu Tezuka's magazine 'COM'. Soon after that, she became a leading voice in the avantgarde manga magazine 'Garo'. Her manga work appeared in almost every issue of Garo from 1978 to 1986.
