I'm an illustrator who loves making books. I've had a few different jobs over the years, but my favourite before this one was making pizzas. If you can think of it, I have probably tried it on a pizza. Chips work surprisingly well as a topping. Donuts, not so much.

So far I've written the words and drawn the pictures for five picture books, including “The Dragon with the Blazing Bottom” and “Big Bad Dragon Club”. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy them a lot more than my pizzas.

Christian McKay Heidicker

Christian McKay Heidicker is an American author of children's books. His book Scary Stories for Young Foxes received a Newbery Honor in 2020.

Prior to his career as a novelist, Heidicker held several jobs in the education field. These included creating instructional comic books, writing articles on science and history for students, and teaching creative writing at Broadview University.

Heidicker's first novel, the young adult title Cure for the Common Universe, was published in 2016. Scary Stories for Young Foxes, his first middle grade book, appeared in 2019. Pat Zietlow Miller

Pat Zietlow Miller knew she wanted to be a writer ever since her seventh-grade English teacher read her paper about square-dancing skirts out loud in class and said: “This is the first time anything a student has written has given me chills.” (Thanks, Mrs. Mueller! You rock!)

Pat started out as a newspaper reporter and wrote about everything from dartball and deer-hunting to diets and decoupage. Then, she joined an insurance company and edited its newsletter and magazine.

Chloe Savage

Chloe Savage received a BA in TV and film set design from Cardiff University in Wales and an MA in children’s book illustration from the Cambridge School of Art in England. Sally was born in Perth in 1951, the eldest of five children. As a child she found school difficult because of questions from other students about her appearance and family background. Jonathan Bentley

As a little boy, Jonathan Bentley liked football and drawing. When he was about eight years old he realised he wasn’t going to be good enough to play football for Leeds United, so he concentrated on drawing instead.

When he left school he studied at Brighton Polytechnic. Jonathan worked as a builder’s labourer and kitchen hand for many years before he became a full-time illustrator, and he worked in London and Sydney before moving to Brisbane, Australia.

David Covell grew up in the wilds of Maine and only came home when it was time for dinner.
