Sebastiano Vassalli
Born in 1941, he was a well known Italian novelist.
Sebastiano Vassalli nasce a Genova nel 1941 da madre toscana e padre lombardo, ma vive a Novara sin da bambino. Dopo il liceo si iscrive alla facoltà di lettere dell’Università di Milano, dove si laurea con Cesare Musatti con una tesi su “La psicanalisi e l’arte contemporanea”. Dal 1965 al 1979 si dedica all’insegnamento in parallelo ad un’intensa attività artistico letteraria.
Partecipa alle vicende della neoavanguardia con il “Gruppo ’63”, il cui intento è abbandonare il mondo critico-accademico per tentare nuove discipline (psicanalisi, strutturalismo, semiologia) e raccogliere l’eredità dell’avanguardia del primo Novecento.

Wu Ming (extended name: Wu Ming Foundation) is the collective pen name of four Italian writers: Roberto Bui, Giovanni Cattabriga, Federico Guglielmi and Riccardo Pedrini, respectively known as "Wu Ming 1", "Wu Ming 2", "Wu Ming 4" and "Wu Ming 5". "Wu Ming" means "anonymous" in Chinese. Although their real names are not secret, the four authors never use them.
