Sanjib Chandra Chattopadhyay
Sanjib Chandra Chattopadhyay (Bengali: সঞ্জীবচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়) was a Bengali writer, poet and journalist. He was the elder brother of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay
Sanjib Chandra was born to an orthodox Brahmin family at Kanthalpara, North 24 Parganas. He was educated at Hooghly Mohsin College founded by famous Bengali philanthropist Muhammad Mohsin and Presidency College, Calcutta. He was one of the first graduates of the University of Calcutta.
Sanjib Chandra is widely regarded as a key figure in literary renaissance of Bengal as well as India. Some of his writings, including novels, essays and commentaries, were a breakaway from traditional verse-oriented Indian writings, and provided an inspiration for authors across India.

Syed Waliullah
Syed Waliullah was born on 15 August 1922 at Sholashahar in Chittagong. After completing his Bachelor’s from Ananda Mohan College in Mymensingh, he enrolled at Calcutta University but did not complete his Master’s. Proficient in both Bangla and English, he worked for the Statesman during 1945-1947. After the Partition, he moved to Dhaka and joined Radio Pakistan as assistant news editor. In 1950 he was posted to Radio Pakistan, Karachi. From 1951 to 1960 he served as press attache at Pakistan missions in New Delhi, Sydney, Jakarta and London. It was in Sydney that Waliullah met Anne-Marie Thibaud, whom he later married and who translated Lal Shalu into French. Leela Majumdar
Leela Majumdar (Bengali: লীলা মজুমদার Lila Mojumdar) was a Bengali writer. Her first story, Lakkhi chhele, was published in Sandesh in 1922. It was also illustrated by her. The children's magazine in Bengali was founded by her uncle, Upendrakishore Ray Chaudhuri in 1913 and was later edited by her cousin Sukumar Ray for sometime after the death of Upendrakishore in 1915. Together with her nephew Satyajit Ray and her cousin Nalini Das, she edited and wrote for Sandesh throughout her active writing life. Until 1994 she played an active role in the publication of the magazine.
