Patrizia Cavalli

Patrizia Cavalli (Todi, 17 aprile 1947 – Roma, 21 giugno 2022) è stata una poetessa e scrittrice italiana. Si è distinta fin dagli anni Settanta per una poesia molto legata all’ esperienza personale, a partire dal primo volume di versi Le mie poesie non cambieranno il mondo (1974), dedicato a Elsa Morante. Infatti è proprio la scrittrice romana, che Patrizia ha occasione di conoscere durante gli studi di filosofia, a scoprire in lei la vocazione per la poesia.

Along with having a famous father, poet Takaaki Yoshimoto, Banana's sister, Haruno Yoiko, is a well-known cartoonist in Japan. Growing up in a liberal family, she learned the value of independence from a young age.

Elsa Morante began writing short stories which appeared in various publications and periodicals, including periodicals for children, in the 1930s. Goliarda Sapienza

Goliarda Sapienza was an Italian actress and writer. Goliarda Sapienza was born 10 May 1924 in Catania. Her mother was Maria Guidice, a prominent socialist, her father Peppino Sapienza, a socialist lawyer. As a child, Goliarda Sapienza reenacted films she had seen in cinema. In 1941 she and her mother went to Rome, where she studied theatre. She worked as an actor in both films and plays, but from 1958 she focused on writing. Her now famous novel L’arte della gioia (The Art of Joy) was finished in 1976 but rejected by publishers because of its length (over 700 pages) and its portrayal of a woman unrestrained by conventional morality and traditional feminine roles. It was first published by her husband Angelo Pellegrino after her death.

Gesualdo Bufalino

Gesualdo Bufalino (Comiso, Italy, November 15, 1920 - June 14, 1996), was an Italian writer. Born in Comiso (Sicily), he studied literature and was, for most of his life a high-school professor in his hometown. The time spent in an hospital for tuberculosis immediately after World War II provided the material for the novel Diceria dell'untore (The Plague Sower), that, begun in 1950, would be published only in 1981, when, at the age of 61, his friend and celebrated writer Leonardo Sciascia discovered his talents. In 1988, the novel Le menzogne della notte (Night's Lies) won the Strega Prize. In 1990 he won the Nino Martoglio International Book Award.
