Eoin Colfer

Peter Madsen
Peter Madsen is a drawing artist and illustrator, an author, a filmmaker and a lecturer. He was born on 12 May, 1958 in the city of Århus, Denmark. As a boy he moved around Denmark with his family until they settled down in the city of Roskilde. Peter Madsen had his first strips published at the age of fifteen, then chose to study medicine. During the years 1980-84 this was his main occupation until he gave up his studies to be able to concentrate on directing the animated feature film Valhalla. He is probably best known for the series of comic albums called Valhalla (1979 -), humourous comics about the gods of Norse mythology. You can read the history of Valhalla here. Already as a child he was an avid cartoonist, and he succeeded in making comics that were printed in various underground magazines.
In the mid-1980s, he began writing stories on a newly purchased typewriter. The beginning of the novel Zambesi, which twelve years later - in 2000 - received the Book Forum's debutant award, was written at the time. He also wrote picture book texts, and it was with the picture book "Dino rejser til byen", that Søren Jessen made his debut as a writer with in 1990.
Since then he has written and illustrated many picture books, chapter books and novels. -
Liv Strömquist
Strömquist was born in Lund and grew up in Ravlunda in the Österlen region of south Sweden. Today she lives in Malmö. Already as a five-year old she made her own comics, but stopped, until she took up drawing comics at the age of 23. Her flatmate made her interested in comic fanzines then. Alix Garin was born in 1997 in Belgium. Her future career as a graphic novelist emerged very early on, and she plunged straight into comics art studies after high school.
