Tove Jansson

Tove Jansson was born and died in Helsinki, Finland. As a Finnish citizen whose mother tongue was Swedish, she was part of the Swedish-speaking Finns minority. Thus, all her books were originally written in Swedish.

Although known first and foremost as an author, Tove Jansson considered her careers as author and painter to be of equal importance.

Tove Jansson wrote and illustrated her first Moomin book, The Moomins and the Great Flood (1945), during World War II. Maren Uthaug

Maren Uthaug (født 1972) er blogger, stribe-tegner og forfatter af halvt samisk, halvt norsk oprindelse.

Uthaug vandt i 2013 Politikens tegneseriekonkurrence og har derfor siden haft en fast stribe i avisens kultursektion under overskriften Ting, jeg gjorde. SUSSI BECH (Susanne Ilsted Bech) er født 1958 i Birkerød og uddannet på Danmarks Designskole i København.

Sussis første tegneseriealbum var “Zainab”, inspireret af Tusind og en Nats eventyr men krydret med Sussis egne ideer og indsigt i 800-tallets Bagdad. “Zainab” blev først bragt som føljeton i Berlingske Tidende og udkom i 1985 som album på forlaget Interpresse. Første oplag på 10.000 blev udsolgt på under tre uger, og yderligere 5.000 eksemplarer blev straks bestilt fra trykkeriet. Albummet udkom også i norsk oversættelse.

Peter Madsen

Peter Madsen is a drawing artist and illustrator, an author, a filmmaker and a lecturer. He was born on 12 May, 1958 in the city of Århus, Denmark. As a boy he moved around Denmark with his family until they settled down in the city of Roskilde. Peter Madsen had his first strips published at the age of fifteen, then chose to study medicine. During the years 1980-84 this was his main occupation until he gave up his studies to be able to concentrate on directing the animated feature film Valhalla. Renée Toft Simonsen

Renée Toft Simonsen (born 12 May 1965) is a former model from Denmark, who currently works as a writer. Simonsen was one of the most successful models in the world during the 1980s.

In October 2003 she published her first children's book, entitled Karlas kabale. In 2006 her children's book Anthony Greenwood was nominated for the Danish book-prize "Orla" and she was awarded with "The Most Dynamic Women" award by cosmetic company Clarins for her social engagement at Plan Denmark.

Her book "Karlas kabale" was made into a movie in 2007. Her first novel "Tirsdag formiddag" (Tuesday Morning) was also released in 2007.
