  Hari Bhakta Katuwal

  Hari Bhakta Katuwal was born on 2 July 1935 in Dibrugarh, Assam. In India, he used to write poems under the name Prabasi (transl. Non-resident). He moved to Kathmandu to pursue his writing career after being invited by King Mahendra.
  Noted for his writing style, he published many poems including Bhitri Manche Bolna Khojch, Yo Zindagi Khai Ke Zindagi, and Samjhana.
  He also wrote lyrics that have been sung by Narayan Gopal, Amber Gurung, and Aruna Lama.
  In 2015, documentary "Ani Hari Bhakta Farkiyenan" about Katuwal's life was released. In 2017, a play was staged at the Sarwanam Theatre based on his poems for his 82nd birth anniversary. In 2021, a life-size statue of Katuwal was erected at Jaigaon near the Indo-Bhutan border.

  Bairagi Kaila is one of the most influential Nepali poets. He is also a poet of a new dimension–the third dimension–meaning Tesro Ayam in the history of Nepalese literature. He, along with his contemporaries Ishwor Ballav and Indra Bahadur Rai, formed a trio in 1963 in Darjeeling to rethink and evaluate the development of Nepalese literature. He has served as Chancellor of the Nepal Academy from 2066 BS to 2070 BS.
  He has won Sajha Puraskar in 2031 BS for his poem collection "Bairagi Kailaka Kabitaharu".

  His parents were Umakanta Rimal and Aditya Kumari Rimal. His first poem, entitled "Kavi ko Gayan" was published in a monthly magazine, "Sarada".
  
  During Rimal's adolescence, he came under the influence of revolutionaries who were aspiring to overthrow the Rana dynasty. Rimal began his career as a successful poet in 1930 and as a playwright in 1940. In 1941, after the execution of a group of political agitators, including Dashrath Chand, Rimal gathered a group of young poets to protest together by singing hymns, at Pashupatinath Temple in the mornings, and at the shrine of Shobhā Bhagavatī in the evenings.

  Laxmi Prasad Devkota is a Nepali poet. Devkota is considered the greatest poet of Nepali language—he has been given the title of "Maha Kavi" ("The Great Poet") of Nepali language.
