Kristīne Želve beigusi Latvijas Kultūras akadēmiju kinorežijas specialitātē (1996). Režisējusi tādas filmas kā "Fedja" (2012), "Musica Serena" (2016), "Mērijas ceļojums" (2018), "Emīlija, Latvijas preses karaliene" (2021).
2011. gadā izdota viņas debijas grāmata, stāstu krājums "Meitene, Kas Nogrieza Man Matus", kas ieguva Literatūras gada balvu kā gada labākā debija. Grāmatā attēlota 90. gadu Rīgas radošās jaunatnes un bohēmas vide. Grāmata 2014. gadā izdota arī igauņu tulkojumā.
2021. gadā klajā nāk vēsturiskais romāns - apjomīgā dzimtas sāga "Grosvaldi".
