Jesús Moncada
Jesús Moncada i Estruga fou un escriptor en llengua catalana nascut a Mequinensa (Baix Cinca) el 1941 i mort a Barcelona el 13 de juny de 2005. La població de la Franja d'Aragó, on va viure fins a la seva desaparició anegada per l'embassament de Riba-roja d'Ebre, és l'escenari principal de la seva obra literària.
Se'l considera un dels autors en català més importants de la seva època i va rebre premis per la seva obra, entre d'altres el Premi Ciutat de Barcelona o el Premio de la Crítica el 1988 per Camí de sirga o la Creu de Sant Jordi, atorgada per la Generalitat de Catalunya l'any 2001. El 2004 va rebre el Premio de las Letras Aragonesas i a títol pòstum fou considerat fill predilecte de Mequinensa.
