Alexander Raskin

Alexander Borisovich Raskin (Александр Борисович Раскин) Russian Soviet writer, satirist, screenwriter. The husband of the writer Frida Vigdorova.

He graduated from the Literary Institute (1938). E. Petrov greatly influenced his formation as a satirist and humorist .

He lived and worked in Moscow. In the 1940s, he worked for the Krokodil magazine. Many of Ruskin's unpublished epigrams were spread orally. According to Wolfgang Kazak, “Ruskin's epigrams to contemporary writers reveal a brilliant command of the language, are distinguished by their sharpness and accuracy”.

Based on the musical "Screen Star", written by Raskin in collaboration with Maurice Slobodsky , the famous movie "Spring" was created .

Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay (also spelt Saratchandra) (Bengali: শরৎচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়) was a legendary Bengali novelist from India. He was one of the most popular Bengali novelists of the early 20th century.

His childhood and youth were spent in dire poverty as his father, Motilal Chattopadhyay, was an idler and dreamer and gave little security to his five children. Saratchandra received very little formal education but inherited something valuable from his father—his imagination and love of literature.

Syed Waliullah

Syed Waliullah was born on 15 August 1922 at Sholashahar in Chittagong. After completing his Bachelor’s from Ananda Mohan College in Mymensingh, he enrolled at Calcutta University but did not complete his Master’s. Proficient in both Bangla and English, he worked for the Statesman during 1945-1947. After the Partition, he moved to Dhaka and joined Radio Pakistan as assistant news editor. In 1950 he was posted to Radio Pakistan, Karachi. From 1951 to 1960 he served as press attache at Pakistan missions in New Delhi, Sydney, Jakarta and London. Syed Mujtaba Ali (Bengali: সৈয়দ মুজতবা আলী) was a Bengali author, academician, scholar and linguist.

Syed Mujtaba Ali was born in Karimganj district (in present-day Assam, India). In 1919, he was inspired by Rabindranath Tagore and started writing to the poet. In 1921, Mujtaba joined the Indian freedom struggle and left his school in Sylhet. He went to Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan and graduated in 1926. He was among the first graduates of the university. Later, he moved to Kabul to work in the education department (1927–1929). From 1929 to 1932 he studied at the universities in Berlin, London, Paris and Bonn. Leela Majumdar

Leela Majumdar (Bengali: লীলা মজুমদার Lila Mojumdar) was a Bengali writer. Her first story, Lakkhi chhele, was published in Sandesh in 1922. It was also illustrated by her. The children's magazine in Bengali was founded by her uncle, Upendrakishore Ray Chaudhuri in 1913 and was later edited by her cousin Sukumar Ray for sometime after the death of Upendrakishore in 1915. Together with her nephew Satyajit Ray and her cousin Nalini Das, she edited and wrote for Sandesh throughout her active writing life. Until 1994 she played an active role in the publication of the magazine.

Shahidul Jahir

Ahmed Sofa

Ahmed Sofa (Bangla: আহমদ ছফা) was a well-known Bangladeshi philosopher, poet, novelist, writer, critic, translator. Sofa was renowned for his intellectual righteousness as well as his holistic approach to the understanding of social dynamics and international politics. His career as a writer began in the 1960s.
