Abdul Hameed Sheik Mohamed
Manushya Puthiran is a pen name of the poet, Abdul Hameed Sheik Mohamed who was born in the small town of Thuvarankurichi in Tiruchirappalli. He began his literary career in the early 80s at the very young age of 15, his first poem got published. In 2002, he was awarded the Sanskriti National Award for his outstanding contribution to Tamil literature as a young writer.
