Willy Lindwer
Documentary filmmaker and television producer Willy Lindwer has been a director and producer since graduating from the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam in 1971. For many years he was on the program staff of several Dutch broadcasters. He founded his company AVA Productions in 1985. Currently he heads two TV-companies, AVA Productions in The Netherlands and Terra Film Productions in Jerusalem, Israel. These companies are dedicated to the development and production of international documentaries and co-productions for television, made-for-TV and theatrical movies and TV mini-series.

Miep Gies
Hermine "Miep" Gies was one of the Dutch citizens who hid Anne Frank, her family (Otto, Margot, Edith) and 4 other Dutch Jews (Fritz Pfeffer, Hermann van Pels, Auguste van Pels, Peter van Pels) from the Nazis in an annex above Otto Frank's business premises during World War II. She was Austrian by birth, but in 1920, at the age of eleven, she was taken in as a foster child by a Dutch family in Leiden to whom she became very attached. Although she was only supposed to stay for six months, this stay was extended to one year because of frail health, after which Gies chose to remain with them, living the rest of her life in the Netherlands.

Livia Bitton-Jackson (born February 28, 1931) is an author and a Holocaust survivor. She was born as Elli L. Friedmann in Samorin, Czechoslovakia. She was 13 years old when she, her mother, father, aunt and brother Bubi, were taken to Ghetto Nagymagyar. Eventually, they were transported to Auschwitz, the largest German concentration camp. She was liberated in 1945. Bitton-Jackson came to the U.S. on a refugee boat in 1951. She then studied at New York University, from which she received a Ph.D. in Hebrew Culture and Jewish History. She also wrote her 1997 memoir I Have Lived a Thousand Years.

Miep Gies
