Sono nato nel 1971 a Firenze, dove vivo. Studio l’arte dell’età barocca e la storia del patrimonio culturale.

Mi sono formato alla Normale di Pisa, ho insegnato a lungo alla Federico II di Napoli e ora sono professore ordinario di Storia dell’Arte Moderna all’Università per Stranieri di Siena.

Sono convinto che gli storici dell’arte servano a fare entrare le opere d’arte nella vita intellettuale ed emotiva di chi si occupa di tutt’altro.

Penso anche che l’amore per la storia dell’arte non debba essere un fatto privato (o peggio un’evasione, o un modo per non pensare), ma pubblico e ‘politico’. L’articolo 9 della Costituzione ha, infatti, mutato irreversibilmente il ruolo del patrimonio storico e artistico italiano, facendone un segno visibile

Antonio Tabucchi

Antonio Tabucchi was an Italian writer and academic who taught Portuguese language and literature at the University of Siena, Italy.

Beppe Fenoglio

Beppe Fenoglio (born Giuseppe Fenoglio) was an Italian writer. His work was published in a critical edition after his death, but controversy remains about his book Johnny the Partisan, often considered his best work, which was published posthumously and incomplete in 1968.

Goliarda Sapienza was an Italian actress and writer. Goliarda Sapienza was born 10 May 1924 in Catania. Her mother was Maria Guidice, a prominent socialist, her father Peppino Sapienza, a socialist lawyer. As a child, Goliarda Sapienza reenacted films she had seen in cinema. In 1941 she and her mother went to Rome, where she studied theatre. She worked as an actor in both films and plays, but from 1958 she focused on writing.
