Joanna Ruocco

Joanna Ruocco is a prize-winning American author and co-editor of the fiction journal Birkensnake. In 2013, she received the Pushcart Prize for her story "If the Man Took” and is also winner of the Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Prize. Ruocco received her MFA at Brown, and a Ph.D. in creative writing from the University of Denver. Her most recent novel is Dan, published by Dorothy, A Publishing Project. She also serves as Assistant Professor in Creative Writing at Wake Forest University.

Ruocco has also published romance novels under the pseudonyms Toni Jones and Alessandra Shahbaz.

Noémi Lefebvre

Noémi Lefebvre was born in 1964 in Caen, and lives in Lyon. Further to a PhD on the subject of music education and national identity in Germany and France, she became a political scientist at CERAT de Grenoble II Institute.

She is the author of three novels, all of which have garnered intense critical success: L’autoportrait bleu (2009), L’état des sentiment à l’âge adulte (2012) and L'enfance politique (2015).

Zahia Rahmani

Zahia Rahmani, an author and art historian at the National Institute for Art History in France, was born in Algeria during the Algerian War of Independence. Her father was an accused Harki, who was imprisoned as a traitor by the Algerians after the war. He escaped prison and fled with his family to France in 1967. Rahmani now lives in Paris and Oise, France.
