Rodney Thrower heeft meer dan twintig jaar voor een bank gewerkt als adviseur. Veel collega's en klanten hebben een andere culturele achtergrond dan de schrijver. Omdat hij zelf actief als bestuurslid van de LGBTIQ+-sportverengingen vaak herkent waar mensen met een andere achtergrond tegenaan lopen, is hij geïnspireerd om het verhaal van het mysterie van de Plakbandheks te gaan schrijven. De schrijver wil graag met zijn verhaal jonge mensen stimuleren meer te gaan lezen en anderen oproepen om de verschillen te omarmen in plaats van ze te stigmatiseren.

Cathinca van Sprundel (1989) writes (YA) fantasy, with a historical touch. Residing in Sassenheim in the Netherlands, she works as a copywriter and editor.
