Vyrůstal jsem v prostředí, které bylo fantastikou přímo nasáklé. Není divu, oba rodiče byli před rokem 1989 aktivní scifisté, takže byla jen otázka času, kdy se nakazím i já.

Začalo to nenápadně, dětskými knihami s fantastickými motivy (Bulyčevovu Alenku s Malákovými ilustracemi mám dodneška rád), seriálem Návštěvníci, Verneovkami, komiksy z Abíčka, pokud se je podařilo sehnat…

Největší zlom ale nastal, když jsem na toaletě našel mámou rozečtené Heinleinovy Dveře do léta. Z toho záchodu jsem pak nevylezl pěkně dlouho… Ale nesmím zapomenout ani na Součka. Jsem jeden z těch, kteří mu první díl Cesty slepých ptáků sežrali i s navijákem.
