Rúnar Helgi Vignisson

Rúnar Helgi studied English and Icelandic at the University of Iceland and got his BA in 1981. He studied French for a winter at the University of Grenoble, and German at the Goethe Institute in Freiburg the winter after. Rúnar Helgi stayed in Copenhagen for a year before getting his MA in Literary Studies from the University of Iowa in 1987. For the next two years, he continued studying there and also taught. He then moved to Chicago for a year, and then Perth in Australia. Since 1992 Rúnar Helgi has been a part-time teacher at the University of Iceland, as well as writing articles and working on the radio.
His first novel, Ekkert slor (Nothing to Sneer At), came out in 1984. In 1990 his novel Nautnastuldur (Theft of Pleasure) was nominated

Junji Itō (Japanese: 伊藤潤二, Ito Junji) is a Japanese cartoonist and illustrator, best known for his horror manga.
Ito was born in Gifu Prefecture, Japan in 1963. He was inspired to make art from a young age by his older sister's drawing and Kazuo Umezu's horror comics. Halldór Laxness

Born Halldór Guðjónsson, he adopted the surname Laxness in honour of Laxnes in Mosfellssveit where he grew up, his family having moved from Reyjavík in 1905. He published his first novel at the age of only 17, the beginning of a long literary career of more than 60 books, including novels, short stories, poetry, and plays. Confirmed a Catholic in 1923, he later moved away from religion and for a long time was sympathetic to Communist politics, which is evident in his novels World Light and Independent People. Hallgrímur Helgason

Hallgrímur Helgason is an Icelandic author, painter, translator, cartoonist and essayist. He has studied at the School of Visual Arts and Crafts in Reykjavík and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich.

Guðrún Eva Mínervudóttir

Benjamín Labatut
