Maruja Torres
María Dolores Torres Manzanera nació en Barcelona en 1943. Comienza a trabajar como periodista a los 21 años y se da a conocer con sus trabajos en la revista de cine Fotogramas y en Por Favor.
Cultivó todas las facetas del periodismo, desde su trabajo como corresponsal de guerra hasta las entrevistas. Pertenece a la redacción del diario 'El País', donde fueron famosas sus series de artículos Hogueras de agosto y Nosotros a lo nuestro.
En 1986 publica su primer libro, ¡Oh es él! viaje fantástico hacia Julio Iglesias. Le siguen libros de periodismo y viajes hasta que en 1998 saca a la luz su primera obra de ficción, Un calor tan cercano, una novela que le vale un premio y el reconocimiento de la crítica.
