Maria Grazia Ciani
Maria Grazia Ciani è nata a Pola (Istria, ora Croazia), il 21 maggio 1940.
Ha lasciato l’Istria con l’esodo del 1945.
Ha studiato a Venezia e a Padova, dove si è laureata nel 1962 con Carlo Diano in letteratura greca.
Si è diplomata in pianoforte e composizione presso il Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello di Venezia.
Nel 1980 ha vinto la cattedra di prima fascia nel gruppo di letteratura greca, assumendo l’insegnamento di Lingua e civiltà greca e in seguito di Storia della tradizione classica presso l’Università di Padova.
Si è occupata soprattutto di epica e di tragedia, e ha studiato la sopravvivenza dei miti letterari e iconografici nelle letterature e nell’arte dell’Occidente.
