Mari Jane Law
Mari Jane Law lives in the UK. She loves books, TV series and films that make her laugh and, through her writing, discovered she could make other people laugh as well. She hopes those who buy or borrow her work have as much fun reading it as she had in writing it!
How I rate:
I don't compare across genres. So I don't think, oh, that book I just read isn't as good as Pride and Prejudice when that book is advice on car maintenance. If it's a piece of comedy, I compare it to other comedies and ask myself if the book stood up to the claims on the cover. If it's a short book, I don't compare it to long books I've read. Has it fulfilled the purpose within the constraints set out by the author? These things would help get a five star rating.

The Art of Falling was a complete change of direction, which took five years to research and write. But trying to get it published was like starting from scratch again. In the end, after many false dawns and disappointments, I p -

I'm a huge fantasy lover and began my journey as an author writing The Wrath of Raghnall which I later shortened to Raghnall's Wrath (new adult fantasy.)
After the pandemic, I began writing contemporary Rom-Com as I felt like I needed something to laugh at and many of my readers felt the same. Screw it! was born and became a hit with my readers.
I will continue to dapple with different genres though, I doubt I will change to a pen name for any. I am immensely proud of all my books and will continue to put my name to any/all works.
A few things about me:
I speak fluent sarcasm and for those who are easily offended, I'm most definitely not -
