Magnhild Haalke

Magnhild Haalke (1885-1984), fra Vikna i Nord-Trøndelag, debuterte som forfatter i 1935 med romanen Allis sønn. Hun var da 50 år gammel, og boken regnes fremdeles som hennes beste verk. Den ble oversatt til 17 språk.

I 1939 vant hun en nordisk romankonkurranse om «yrkeskvinnen i hennes forhold til arbeid, kjærlighet og hjem» med romanen Trine Torgersen. Frem til 1940 jobbet Haalke som lærer. Hun skrev siden en lang rekke romaner, hvor hun gjerne fulgte samme hovedperson eller slekt gjennom flere bøker, blant annet trilogien om Gry; Åkfestet, Dagblinket og Rød haust?, og trilogien om Kaja Augusta og slekten hennes; Karenanna Velde, Kaja Augusta og Kvinneverden.

Carl Frode Tiller is a author, historian and musician. His works are in Nynorsk (lit. "New Norwegian"), one of the two official Norwegian standard languages .
