Lois Pereiro

Luis Ángel Sánchez Pereiro, máis coñecido como Lois Pereiro, nado en Monforte de Lemos o 16 de febreiro de 1958 e finado na Coruña o 24 de maio de 1996, foi un escritor e poeta galego. No ano 2011 dedicóuselle o Día das Letras Galegas.

Naceu en Monforte de Lemos, de familia procedente do Incio. Estudou no colexio dos Escolapios, e comezou a escribir con 15 anos. Tras rematar o COU marchou a Madrid, onde comezou Ciencias Políticas e Socioloxía. Logo dunha estancia en Monforte traballando na empresa familiar, adicada ao vidro, regresou a Madrid para estudar lingua inglesa, francesa e alemá. Alí fundou a revista Loia xunto a Antón Patiño, Manuel Rivas e o seu irmán Xosé Manuel Pereiro.

Manuel Rivas Barrós began his writing career at the age of 15. Camilo José Cela Trulock was a Spaniard writer from Galicia. Prolific author (as a novelist, journalist, essayist, literary magazine editor, lecturer ...), he was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy for 45 years and won, among others, the Prince of Asturias Prize for Literature in 1987, the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1989 ("for a rich and intensive prose, which with restrained compassion forms a challenging vision of man's vulnerability.") and the Cervantes Prize in 1995.
