  I was born in The Netherlands, but have lived and worked in the UK as an Artist and Theatre Designer for many years.
  
  In 1995 I took part in the UK theatre design entry at the Prague Quadrennial which won the Gold Medal. Recently, I designed the set for ‘Little Red Riding Hood’: a children’s show for Northern Ballet and ‘Booming Voices’ for Eastern Angles.
  
  I paint semi abstract landscapes inspired by my immediate surroundings, marshes, the river, ditches and arable fields, the sounds of the water birds and Suffolk’s big skies.
  
  After my two children had grown up, I studied an MA in children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art and graduated in February 2019 with a distinction.

  Kader Abdolah is the penname of Hossein Sadjadi Ghaemmaghami Farahani, an Iranian writer who also writes in Dutch. Abdolah has lived in the Netherlands since 1988.

  Erlend Loe

  Erlend Loe is a Norwegian novelist. He worked at a psychiatric clinic, and was later a freelance journalist for Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen. Loe now lives and works in Oslo where in 1998 he co-founded Screenwriters Oslo - an office community for screenwriters.

  Sven Nordqvist (born 30 April 1946) is a Swedish writer and illustrator of children's books. He is best known for his series Pettson and Findus, about an old farmer, Pettson, and his talented cat, Findus.
  
  Nordqvist was born in Helsingborg and grew up in Halmstad, Sweden. He originally wanted to be an illustrator but was rejected by several art schools. Instead he studied architecture at Lund Institute of Technology, and worked for a time there as a lecturer in architecture. At the same time he continued to look for work as an illustrator working on advertisements, posters and picture books.
