Schrijven is mijn lust en mijn leven. Het begon op de basisschool toen ik ontdekte hoe leuk het schrijven van opstellen was en zelf ook verhalen begon te schrijven. Een daarvan ging over een mosasaurus, de tweede over het monster van Loch Ness. Op mijn achtste had ik al een eerste non-fictie boekje zelf gemaakt, compleet met tekeningen. Waarover? Dinosaurussen. Een thema wordt langzaam duidelijk.
Het zal niemand verbazen dat de reeks avonturenverhalen die ik als tiener op een typemachine uitwerkte, begon met 'Joost en Cliff op het eiland der pterodactylen.'
