Ian Hornett
With absolutely no inkling that he wanted to be an author, Ian was born in Colchester in 1964. Aged 19, he did a degree, which involved 3 years of playing around with sports equipment, before joining Customs & Excise. This job, alas, involved more serious adult behaviour and a lot less sporting fun. At 40, he became a primary teacher where he hoped to rekindle his love affair with sport. This did happen, even if a lot of time was spent tidying the P.E. shed. Teaching children how to write in an exciting way was an inspiration, however, and he still teaches.
