Heljo Mänd
Sündinud Narvas kontoriametniku tütrena, õppinud Tallinna Arve- ja Plaanindustehnikumis ning Eesti Riiklikus Teatriinstituudis. Aastatel 1958-65 töötas lasteajakirja Pioneer toimetuses, 1960-65 samaaegselt ka lasteajakirja Täheke toimetuses. Alates 1965 vabakutseline kirjanik. Kirjanike Liidu liige aastast 1961.
Heljo Mänd on avaldanud üle 90 värsi-, proosa- ja näidendiraamatu lastele ja ligi 30 raamatut täiskasvanutele, kuuldemänge, lastenäidendeid, TV-stsenaariume („Mõmmi ja aabits”, „Nõiakivi”), tõlkinud lasteluulet ja -proosat vene, inglise ja saksa keelest. Tema lasteraamatuid on tõlgitud enam kui 20 keelde.

Maurice Druon
Maurice Druon was born in Paris. He is the nephew of the writer Joseph Kessel, with whom he wrote the Chant des Partisans, which, with music composed by Anna Marly, was used as an anthem by the French Resistance during the Second World War.

In 1948 he received the Prix Goncourt for his novel Les grandes familles. On December 8, 1966, he was elected to the 30th seat of the Académie française, succeeding Georges Duhamel.
While his scholarly writing earned him a seat at the Académie, he is best known for a series of seven historical novels published in the 1950s under the title Les Rois Maudits (The Accursed Kings).
He was Minister of Cultural Affairs in 1973 and 1974 in Pierre Messmer's cabinet, and a deputy of Paris from 1978 to 1981.

He attended Miina Härma Secondary Grammar School in Tartu between 1989-2001. 2001-2003 he studied computer graphics and advertising in Tartu Art College, then film and video directing in the Tallinn University between 2003-2005. Since 2007 he has been attending a master's level screenwriting course in Baltic Film and Media School.
He won the first prize in Estonian Novel Competition 2005 with his work "Mina olin siin. Esimene arest." A feature length film based on the novel was released in 2008 (I Was Here).
