He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Fumi Yoshinaga was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1971. She attended the prestigious Keio University in Tokyo.
