Biljana Jovanović

Biljana Jovanović je rođena 28. januara 1953. godine u Beogradu. Umrla je 11. marta 1996. godine u Ljubljani.

Završila je filozofiju na Filozofskom fakultetu u Beogradu.

Objavila je zbirku pesama Čuvar (1977), romane: Pada Avala.(Prosveta, 1978 i Nezavisno izdanje Slobodan Mašić, 1981), Psi i ostali (Prosveta, 1980) i Duša jedinica moja (BIGZ, 1984), drame: Ulricke Meinhof (osnova za predstavu “Stammheim”, SKC, Beograd, 1982, reditelji Ljubiša Ristić i Nada Kokotović), Leti u goru kao ptica (Atelje 212, Beograd, 1983, reditelj Zoran Ratković), Centralni zatvor (Naroden teater Bitola, 1922, reditelj Vlada Milćin) i Soba na Bosforu (objavljena u ProFemini br.1, Beograd, 1996).

Danilo Kiš

Danilo Kiš was born in Subotica, Danube Banovina, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the son of Eduard Kiš (Kis Ede), a Hungarian Jewish railway inspector, and Milica Kiš (born Dragićević) from Cetinje, Montenegro. During the Second World War, he lost his father and several other family members, who died in various Nazi camps. His mother took him and his older sister Danica to Hungary for the duration of the war. After the end of the war, the family moved to Cetinje, Montenegro, Yugoslavia, where Kiš graduated from high school in 1954.

Marlen Haushofer

Marlen Haushofer was born in Frauenstein, Molln, Austria on April the 11th, 1920. She went to a Catholic gymnasium that was turned in a public school under the Nazi regime. She started her studies on German Language and Literature, in 1940 in Vienna and later on in Graz. She married the dentist Manfred Haushofer in 1941, they divorced in 1950 but reunited in 1957. They had a son together, in addition to the one son she had brought to their “second” marriage.

Although Marlen Haushofer won prizes for her work and gained critics laud, she was an almost forgotten author until the Women's Movement rediscovered her, with special attention of the role of women in the male-dominated society themes in her work.

Georgi Gospodinov

Lana Bastašić

Sara Baume

Sara Baume is an Irish novelist.
Her father is of English descent while her mother is of Irish descent. As her parents travelled around in a caravan, Sara Baume was born "on the road to Wigan Pier". When she was 4, they moved to County Cork, Ireland. She studied fine art at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design and creative writing at Trinity College, Dublin from where she was awarded her MPhil.
