Benjamin Niespodziany

Benjamin Niespodziany has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, Best Microfiction, and Best of the Net. His poem "The Twins" was runner-up for the 2021 Greg Grummer Poetry Contest, as judged by Sabrina Orah Mark.

Along with The Northerners (his 2021 chapbook released through above/ground press) and Pickpocket the Big Top (his 2022 chapbook released through Dark Hour Books), his writing has appeared in the Wigleaf Top 50, FENCE, Salt Hill, Fairy Tale Review, Hobart, and various others. He lives in Chicago, works in the music industry, and runs the multimedia art blog [neonpajamas].

His debut poetry collection, No Farther Than the End of the Street, is out Nov. 1, 2022 through Okay Donkey Press, with praise from Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket

Frederick Exley

Frederick "Fred" Exley was a critically lauded, if not bestselling, author. He was nominated for a National Book Award for A Fan's Notes, and received the William Faulkner Award for best first novel, as well as the Rosenthal Award from the National Institute of Arts and Letters

He was a guest lecturer at the Iowa Writer's Workshop in 1972 and won a Playboy Silver medal award in 1974 for best non-fiction piece for "Saint Gloria & The Troll," an excerpt from his book Pages From Cold Island.

His later work also earned him a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation, a Harper-Saxton Fellowship, and a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship.

Exley died of a stroke at 62 in 1992.

Jorge Carrera Andrade was an Ecuadorian poet, historian, author, and diplomat during the 20th century. He was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1902. He died in 1978.

While living in the United States, Carrera developed many literary relationships with American writers, in particular Muna Lee whose critically-acclaimed translation of his poetry, Secret Country, was published in 1946. His work was praised and championed by John Malcolm Brinnin, H.R. Hays, Archibald MacLeish, Carl Sandburg, William Jay Smith and William Carlos Williams. I love poetry, literature and non-fiction. Every summer I go on a diet of short stories. I like the literary, the mainstream, the experimental and the un-categorical. I'm not big on the incomprehensible, but I like the mysterious. I like history, and long ago in another lifetime, I studied Chinese. I'm a feminist. And a mother, wife and dog lover. I'm from NJ but have lived more than half my life outside the US.

As I get older I'm only interested in reading books that are wonderful and otherwise remarkable.

In poetry and otherwhere, the lower-case i/I doesn't bother me a bit.

I used to trust the Booker more than the Pulitzer, now I don't know. I only trust it from the outset if Fitzcarraldo published it.

E.M. Carroll

E.M. Carroll was born in June 1983 in London, Ontario. They started making comics in 2010 and their horror comic "His Face All Red" went viral at Hallowe'en 2010.

Since then, E.M. has published several books, created comics for anthologies, and provided illustrations for other works. E.M. has won several awards, including an Ignatz and two Eisners. They are married to fellow Canadian artist, Kate Craig.

Diane Seuss was born in Indiana and raised in Michigan. She earned a BA from Kalamazoo College and an MSW from Western Michigan University.
