I used to be a drummer in a punkrock band before I became a comic artist. What is a good life? That is the common thread in my work. I like to write and draw stories about minimalism and resistance, about making important choices, about people who dare to go against the grain for a higher purpose.

My book ‘Vincent’ is published in more than twenty countries around the world. 'The philosopher, the dog and the wedding' is my latest graphic novel, about one of the first female philosophers from ancient Greece. It is translated into English, Spanish and French, and translations in Korea, China and Albany are on the way.

Robbert Welagen

Merethe Lindstrøm
