Anil Ramdas

Anil Ramdas was een Surinaams-Nederlands schrijver, programmamaker en journalist voor o.a. De Groene Amsterdammer en NRC Handelsblad. Zijn oeuvre is een getuigenis van zijn scherpzinnig denken over thema’s als identiteit, migratie en vrijheid. Door zijn speelse en tegelijk scherpe analyses van deze soms heikele thema’s, geldt Ramdas als een van de beste essayisten in het Nederlandse taalgebied. Hij schreef meerdere essay- en verhalenbundels, en werkte als radiopresentator voor de NPS en de VPRO, waarvoor hij ook verschillende televisieprogramma’s maakte. Jenny Erpenbeck is the daughter of the physicist, philosopher and writer John Erpenbeck and the Arabic translator Doris Kilias. Her grandparents are the authors Fritz Erpenbeck and Hedda Zinner.
