Aleksandar Hemon
Aleksandar Hemon is a Bosnian American writer known for his short stories and novels that explore issues of exile, identity, and home through characters drawn from Hemon’s own experience as an immigrant.
Hemon was raised in Sarajevo, where his father was an engineer and his mother was an accountant. After graduating from the University of Sarajevo with a degree in literature in 1990, he worked as a journalist with the Sarajevan youth press. In 1992 he participated in a journalist exchange program that took him to Chicago. Hemon intended to stay in the United States only briefly, for the duration of the program, but, when war broke out in his home country, he applied for and was granted status as a political refugee in the United States.

Radio je kao glavni i odgovorni urednik nezavisne radio stanice Slobodni radio Prijedor, suosnivač je nezavisnog magazina Novo ogledalo, a iz Bosanske Krajine je izvještavao i za RTV BiH i magazin BH Dani. U septembru 2000. godine počinje da radi pri Međunarodnom krivičnom sudu za bivšu Jugoslaviju, gdje vodi kancelariju za ondose sa javnošću u BiH, a služio je i kao glasnogovornik Tribunala. Bio je član tima koji je radio na uspostavljanju Vijeća za ratne zločine Suda BiH i prvi šef njegove službe za informisanje. Maria Messina (Palermo, 14 marzo 1887 – Pistoia, 19 gennaio 1944) è stata una scrittrice italiana.
Nacque a Palermo, secondo alcune fonti a Alimena, in provincia di Palermo, da Gaetano, ispettore scolastico, e Gaetana Valenza Traina, discendente di una famiglia baronale di Prizzi. Cresciuta a Messina, trascorse un'infanzia isolata, con i genitori ed i fratelli. Durante l'adolescenza, viaggiò molto, per via dei continui spostamenti del padre, finché, nel 1911, la sua famiglia si stabilì a Napoli.
