Ann grew up in South Florida, exploring local beaches and coral reefs, watching space launches, and devouring science fiction novels. She earned a Master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Queensland and worked as a laboratory assistant in fisheries science, pharmaceutical science and virology. She has taught high school and college classes in biology, chemistry, environmental science and biotechnology.
When not writing, Ann spends her time walking with her husband, bike riding, camping, visiting with her adult children, and playing with their attention-demanding cats.
John Lockton is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale and graduate of Harvard Law School. This debut novel captures his forty years of sailing and exploring the Caribbean, and records the life-changing Caribbean voyage he made at the same age, thirteen, as did Ethan Carpenter in the book. Lockton had a distinguished career in law and business including as a trial lawyer for a leading Walls Street legal firm, General Counsel for Reuben H. Donnelley Corporation, President of Dun & Bradstreet International, President of Moody’s Investor Services, Executive Vice President of Pacific Bell, President of Warner Amex Cable TV (now Warner Cable TV), and most recently Chairman of startup companies in Silicon Valley. In retirement he has written two books
