My formal education was at Hamond's Grammar School in Swaffham, and at the Norfolk College of Arts and Technology (Stephen Fry being a much more famous former student).
I write in the magical realism genre, meshing otherworldliness into the harshness of our real world. I also like to handcuff humour and tragedy to the same radiator.
Perhaps incongruously for an author, I have a background in karate and kickboxing and travel extensively - particularly in the Far East.
I'm married (to Julie) and currently live in Norwich, England.

The topics she wrote about were very personal, private, and at times, dark - unrequited love, desire, pain, betrayal, and her budding sexuality. Many of her poems also had a spiritual undertone. The maturity and depth of her poems as a young girl belied her age.
After a hiatus of almost 4 decades she started writing again and launched her poetry blog in November 2021. Memories from another Lifetime is a series of her poems written as a young girl. Vanita’s mission is to make the voice of her younger self heard and she invites the -

Kimber Silver
My love of reading began early, cultivated by my grandmother. I cut my teeth on the works of Louis L'Amour. Then my curiosity for other genres blossomed, and I spent any free time I had in the library. The stories took me away from the farm, and the small town I lived in, to a world so vast, that I felt I could achieve anything.

We share our house with two cats that are working on training us. In addition, our pond houses two koi, Daisy and Rose, as well as assorted shubunkins and minnows. One would think that frogs would love the environment in the pond, but it appears that they like swimming laps in the pool almost as much as I do.
Tending to this menagerie, writing, and rescuing the frog population from certain death keep me busy.
