Sissy didn't expect to become an author. Inspiration struck while watching her baby notice his feet for the very first time. During a single nap time that day, with baby Berk snuggled to her chest, Sissy penned the first draft of Whose Toes? on her phone. With no illustrator or a clue how to publish a book, Sissy put the story on hold until the next baby came along. Motivation to finally print and publish the book struck while watching baby 2, Evren, discover his own feet. After a two-year project delay, Sissy found Emma to illustrate and got to work. The rest, as they say, is history.
Sissy was raised in Iowa but now lives in Minnesota with her husband, two boys, and their dog, Penny.
Clare Short is a speech-language pathologist living in Atlanta, GA with her husband and three young children. She studied English and Human Development as an undergraduate at Boston College, then completed her Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology at University of Virginia. When not working in pediatric acute care as an SLP or raising her children, she can be found searching for the best cookie in the city, savoring the perfect cup of tea, or traveling to the North Georgia mountains for a hike with her family and friends.
