Ursula Krechel

Krechel was born in Trier. From 1966 to 1972 she studied German studies, theatre, and art history at the University of Cologne. From 1969 to 1972, she worked as a drama advisor in Dortmund. After 1972, she lived in Frankfurt am Main for many years and now works in Berlin as a writer, focusing on Lyric poetry, but also writing prose, drama, and radio drama.

Clemens Meyer

Meyer was born in 1977 in Halle an der Saale. His studies at the German Literature Institute, Leipzig, were interrupted by a spell in a youth detention centre. He has worked as a security guard, forklift driver and construction worker before he became a published novelist.

Meyer won a number of prizes for his first novel Als wir träumten (As We Were Dreaming), published in 2006,[2] in which a group of friends grow up and go off the rails in East Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He received the Rheingau Literatur Preis in 2006.

Antje Rávic Strubel (geb. 1974) lebt und arbeitet als Schriftstellerin in Potsdam. Nino Haratischwili

Nino Haratischwili (Georgian: ნინო ხარატიშვილი) is a Georgian-born German novelist, playwright, and theater director.

Haratischwili was born and raised in Tbilisi, Georgia, where she attended a German-language school. To escape the political and social chaos that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union, she moved to Germany for two years in the early 1990s with her mother, where she attended the seventh and the eighth grade of school. Her family returned to Georgia afterwards. Haratischwili later moved to Germany again in order to attend drama school in Hamburg. She became a German citizen in 2012.

Dorothee Elmiger

Dorothee Elmiger is a Swiss writer. She presently lives in Switzerland. Elmiger is considered one of the most promising young Swiss writers, especially after winning the second Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, the Kelag Prize, in 2010.

After finishing school her primary schooling, Dorothee Elmiger went to New Hampshire before beginning her studies of philosophy and political sciences at the University of Zurich. She received her professional training at the Swiss Institute for Literature in Biel/Bienne and at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig, where she spent an exchange semester.

In 2008, she competed in Prosanova, a festival for new literature in Hildesheim. In 2009, she was a stipendiary at the literature course in Klagenfurt.

Milena Michiko Flašar

Milena Michiko Flašar (St. Pölten, 1980) studied comparative literature, Germanic and Roman languages at the University of Vienna, and taught German to non-native speakers. After several successful publications in a variety of literary magazines, she made her debut in 2008 with the collection Ich bin (I am). This volume includes three short stories about love and parting. The short story Okaasan – Meine unbekannte Mutter (Okaasan – My unfamiliar Mother) appeared in 2010, telling the story of her dying demented mother. She has received several prizes and scholarships for her work. Meanwhile she has started writing full-time. In feburary 2012 her new book Ich nannte ihn Krawatte was published.

Caroline Wahl

Caroline Wahl (born 1995 in Mainz) is a German author. Her debut novel, 22 Bahnen, was published in April 2023 by DuMont Buchverlag. After her school days, she studied German studies and German literature in Tübingen and Berlin. After that and among other things, she worked as a publishing assistant of the Diogenes Verlag in Zürich. Her love of the sea led her to Northern Germany in 2022 where she worked for a communications agency in Rostock. Since the success of her debut novel, she lives as an independent author in the Hansestadt.
