Unai Goikoetxea (1974) nació en Bilbao, donde vive actualmente junto a su mujer y tres hijos. A pesar de haber estudiado Sociología en la Universidad de Deusto, optó por encauzar su vida laboral al ámbito de las administraciones públicas.

Desde pequeño fue un lector voraz, devorando libros de Historia, fantasía y ciencia ficción indiscriminadamente. Con el paso de los años, amplió su horizonte lector a los clásicos del siglo XIX y XX.
