Tom Egeland

Born in 1959, Egeland worked as journalist for a magazine and as a reporter and editor for Aftenposten before working in television. In 2006, he became a full-time fiction writer. His books include horror, suspense, and multiple children's book. His most famous novel, Relic, which predated Dan Brown's blockbuster The Da Vinci Code, is so simillar some readers speculated it influenced Brown, but the author has said they simply drew on similar sources. In 2009 he won the Riverton Prize.

Ingvar Ambjørnsen

Ingvar Even Ambjørnsen-Haefs (1956-2025) was a Norwegian writer. He is best known for his "Elling" tetralogy: Utsikt til paradiset (1993), Fugledansen (1995), Brødre i blodet (1996), and Elsk meg i morgen (1999).

Brødre i blodet ("Blood brothers") was turned into a successful movie, entitled Elling, which received an Oscar nomination in the Best Foreign Film category in 2001. The English translation of the novel is called Beyond the Great Indoors.

His debut novel was a semi-autobiography called 23-salen ("The 23rd Row"), in which he criticized Norway's efforts to take care of psychically challenged individuals. Erlend Loe is a Norwegian novelist. He worked at a psychiatric clinic, and was later a freelance journalist for Norwegian newspaper Adresseavisen. Loe now lives and works in Oslo where in 1998 he co-founded Screenwriters Oslo - an office community for screenwriters.

Sigbjørn Mostue

Sigbjørn Mostue is a norwegian editor and author of children's books. His literary debut was in 2005, when the first book in the trilogy of Alvetegnet (which would be something like "The Sign of the Elves" in English) was published. The two following books in the series came in 2006 and 2007. These books are written in some sort of magical realism, where the story take place both in the "real world" and a parallel, fairytale-like world on "the other side", populated by magical creatures. Many of these figures can also be found in norwegian folklore.

His books are popular among norwegian children and teenagers, but have not yet been translated to English. In 2006, the movie rights of Alvetegnet were sold to SF Norway.
